Research Interests: Current studies encompass many areas of cell and tissue injury with particular relevance to carcinogenesis, toxicology,
immune-related diseases as well by radiation injury. Dr. Fornace heads the Waters Center of Innovation in Metabolomics at Georgetown,
and has developed state-of-art mass spectrometry instrumentation to assess overall (global) changes in cellular metabolites during responses
to a variety of injuries and diseases in both patients and animal models. His group has also pioneered the development of targeted metabolomic
approaches with relevance to translational and clinical studies. Dr. Fornace is an internationally recognized expert in stress-signaling
mechanisms and cellular injury with more than 30,000 citations from 339 publications and a h-index of 95 on ISI Web of Science.
